about

I noticed that, when amplified sufficiently, sounds could be heard from my Roland SH-32 when no MIDI signals were being sent, and that these sounds were nonetheless manipulated by settings on the synthesiser as normal(ish). Similar glitchy phantoms were also audible when signals were coming through, but the filter was set too low for full sounds to escape. Track 1 features a low pass filter with added distortion and Track two has a low pass filter with an added high pass filter afterwards. I think both tracks feature a mix of sawtooth and squaretooth waves. Not everything heard is glitches, some is synth tone that would be totally stifled by the filter under normal amplification. Both tracks also end with less filter (but still some glitches) so you can hear the synth tones under normal conditions. I think it's interesting so improvised with it and I think the products were successful. Hopefully you share my sentiments.

Track 2 are quite quiet, but I thought I'd let you amplify it to your own tastes rather than doing so myself. I think it works as either light flutterings or ear-splitting noise so do as you please.
